The Plant Cell
The CellA cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all organisms. These microscopic things called cells are made of even smaller compartments called cell organelles or structures. Organelles/Structures are responsible for the vital functions within the cell, such as energy production and conversion and digestion.
The Plant CellSo how is a plant cells categorized? Well we know that a plant is
a living thing comprised of cells, these cells are then classified as being Eukaryotic (contains true nucleus) and are usually between 30-150um. So what sets the plant cell a part from the other Eukaryotic cells? Well these are the features of many Plant cells- they exist as a part of a multicellular organism with specialisation of cells into many types; possess a nucleus and membrane bound organelles; Autotrophic ; photosynthetic cells with chloroplast; Cell Wall is made of cellulose.
